Finding My Practice In Fairhaven

At the time of writing this reflection, my family and I have lived in Bellingham for over a year now. We love it here and feel like we’ve found the perfect place to set down roots. After we moved, one of my priorities was deciding where to open up my acupuncture practice. I explored different neighborhoods, and after much thought, I chose Fairhaven as the home for my practice.

There were a number of things that drew me to Fairhaven. First and foremost, I love being closer to the water. Marine Park is just a short walk from my office, making it easy to recharge with a bit of qi gong by the beach. There’s something about that open, expansive view over the water that feels so nourishing. What spacious abundance that is! I also appreciate the walkability of Fairhaven. With plenty of beautiful paths close by, there are lots of places to explore when I have a break in my schedule. Many of my patients are able to walk or bike to their appointments, which is fantastic. And for those that need to drive, vehicle accessibility is pretty easeful, as Fairhaven is just far enough from the interstate.

The intimate, vibrant energy of downtown Fairhaven also played a role in my decision. Its small collection of blocks packed with shops and restaurants creates a welcoming nucleus of activity. Whether I’m grabbing lunch, catching a bit of sun (or rain, for it is Bham after all), or meeting with a fellow local practitioner, it feels good to be in a place that has plenty of activity without feeling overwhelming.

My office is on the third floor of Finnegan’s Alley along Harris Avenue, firmly planted in the middle of this nucleus of acitivity. When I step out of my office everyday, I get feel charming energy of Fairhaven and also witness the seasonal shifts that Bellingham’s beauty so naturally presents.

I look forward to have the opportunity to continue to serve this community and deepen my roots here in Fairhaven.
